ROBERT FRAGA: At peace in the arms of his Savior
Robert Fraga, 54, passed from the pain and frustrations of this life into the arms of his Savior early on Jan. 20, 2018. Hundreds of friends packed Wilkerson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral home and others stood in the back and entranceway to hear Dick Wooten officiate his funeral.
Robert was graduated from University High School in 1981, and married Evonne on May 14, 1994. He worked at Central Freight for several years, and then for 23 years at UPS before medical issues sidelined him.
We were all able to rejoice with Robert when he was saved at Stonegate, and he was a faithful attender. We were able to support Robert and Evonne in prayer when Santiago was struggling, and we grew to love the Fraga family. Even though Robert suffered for several years before he passed, we are witnesses to Robert faithfully living a Christian life.
Robert would never have been comfortable in a large church, but he found Stonegate a place where he could worship with people he loved and who accepted him and loved him.
TRAVIS VALENZUELA: Eagle Court of Honor
Travis Valenzuela was honored with an Eagle Court of Honor Jan. 6. More than 80 people attended the ceremony including the Beverly Hills Chief of Police on behalf of his relative Doc Anderson. Ben and Melinda provided a lunch for those attending.
Travis also received a commendation from the Baptist Scouting Association. Travis has been a member of Stonegate for most of his young life. During his journey to Eagle Scout, Travis led his fellow scouts in building a prayer garden at Stonegate, which is available to members and neighbors as a quiet place for prayer or contemplation.
MARJEAN MITCHELL: In the Arms of Her Savior
Marjean Greene Mitchell, 82, passed away Dec. 29, 2017. Marjean was a faithful member of Stonegate until her medical issues prohibited her leaving her residence. Service was Jan. 5 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Waco Memorial Park. Pastor Dick Wooten officiated.
She was born Jan. 27, 1935, to Howard and Mozelle Cragg. She is survived by Tom and Jeanelle Greene, David and Mary Greene, Johnny and Sandra Greene, eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Marjean joins her Stonegate friends who have also recently passed into eternal life: Linda Alexander, who cared for Marjean when she entered the nursing home; and Elder Paul Holroyd and Elder Keith Mosley, who served Marjean as part of the Elder Family Ministry.
